Dim sum has always been my family’s favourite. After a satisfying meal at Wan Dou Sek days back, we all wanted to eat at Swee Choon after reading on the favorable reviews. My dear and my two princesses were not feeling well, so I guess it’s good time for dim sum. “Agreed.” said our prince. We sat at the little back alley as it was a cool night.

I had come to savour e much raved about fried mee sua kueh. It looked like fried carrot cake on the outside. It tasted pretty good with the crispy outer layer more flavourful to complement the more bland inner mee sua. We liked the carrot cake here as well….. it’s light & crispy & flavorful with the lup cheong in it.

The lor mai kai is tasty though not the best. The glutinous rice is soft which I always liked it this way. Char siew bao and siew mai didn’t managed to get into my mouth as they were all grabbed up by my 3 darlings!

The fried golden toufu is really good. Doesn’t look special at all but when you bite it, ooh la la. The way that thin layer of batter gives way to tender white tofu as your teeth sinks into it… The batter has a taste like crackers to me. For those who think it may be too bland, there’s a pinch of pork floss atop each cube of tofu.

Xiao long bao is definitely more tasty (at least there is soup in it !) here than at Wan Dou Sek, which is dry. La mian with pork chop and red bean pancake is ok.

Service was very friendly and the food came very quickly. The total bill including 5 grass jelly and wet tissues comes up to only $32.60! Wah, very cheap! We will defintely go back to try out the other items.
