Ice3 Cafe – home-made ice-cream right in the heart of Serangoon Gardens . We sat at the neon-blue bar-like tabletop. Tea-light candles illuminate each individual table, radiating a halo of warmth and subtle energy.
Main course is definitely average only. But give in to sinful delights as the menu presents a list of ice-creams, mudpies, sundaes, fondues and crepes. Ice3 takes its ice-cream concept a step further and introduces alcohol into home-made ice-cream, teasing out the unsuspecting ice-cream lover’s wild side.
Dear and I digged into the Alcoholics’ Anonymous mudpie, a popular favourite that was awarded the Platinum award in Singapore ’s compilation of best desserts, “Sweetest Things”. True to its reputation, Alcholics’ Anonymous ignites an addiction to rum…in mudpie. Made with real rum and topped with heaps of raisins and almond flakes, a smooth block of creamy smooth ice-cream sits like Temptation Island on an Oreo-cookie base in the middle of a pond of Butterscotch. Unlike other Rum & Raisin ice-cream, the real rum smoothens and heightens the sensation of ice-cream sliding down one’s throat.
