Really missed ah gong still a lot though he had passed on for some years oredi……………he’s definitely not some1 dat can be erased from my memory hard disc. After tinking abt all dat ah gong had done for me, pcs of past pictures juz seem to start stitching up 1 by 1…………as thou back to when I was still a skiny, dark primary school girl.
Ah gong will juz not give up following closely behind d trishaw ah pek hired by mum to bring me & my sis to & fro from school in Geylang. Be it rain or shine, he will put on his signature straw hat (we called it d cowboy hat!) & made sure dat we arrived in school & back from school safely. And we salute him when it rains! He will have an umbrella holding on to one hand & cycle with d other steadily man! Tink datz y he seldom fall sick hor?

Recess time will owas be a excitement for me & sis as ah gong will owas without fail bring us some reward snacks! Most remembered was tis Ken Ken dried cuttlefish tidbit.
N I mus proudly say dat my ah gong was a very gd cook! From daily home cooked meals to hawker fare like hokkien mee, oyster omelette, etc. He’s in fact d chef of d house cos ah ma dunno how!
